What I See I Am

"GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD"

Here again The Lord's Prayer characterizes itself a command of direction not a request of need.  In the Bible Christ precedes the prayer with "Pray like this."  The Prayer assumes the answer.  The Prayer assumes all things are of God and therefore will be given to Us.

"GIVE"  a direction of action - "US" all inclusive (plural not singular) - "THIS DAY"  time frame of now (not in the future context) - "OUR" we already own it (we have the right to it, a mind set of distinct quality in prayer) - "DAILY" an ongoing everyday statement (not a one time item) - "BREAD" that which we need to be sustained in the life we live (each is different in this context).  "BREAD" includes more than food, it includes all things of Life.

This statement of the prayer recognizes GOD as the SOURCE of all things.  We have an inclination to think the source of our needs is physical, grocery store, other retail outlets, government, family, friends, etc.  When w pray in this manner we give recognition GOD is the source of ALL things in our lives.  All other sources change and disappear.  GOD never changes or disappears.

There are four levels of prayer or approaching GOD.

1. asking - Dear God, I need > this prayer creates the need we are therefore constantly in a state of need.

2. thanking - Dear God, I thank you for> this prayer creates a sense of already having received something in the past.

3. accepting - Dear God, I accept > this prayer creates a sense of GOD'S guidance with no input from us, we take what GOD GIVES.

4. commanding - Dear God, GIVE US THIS DAY, > This prayer puts you in command of that which is yours (your life), you take control.  You realize you are in charge and GOD IS THE SOURCE OF ALL YOU NEED.

We limit our life's expression by not praying in the manner which the LORD'S PRAYER commands us to pray.

"BREAD"  The prayer doesn't say "needs".  BREAD is very personal it can only be digested or assimilated by the person praying for it. "needs" could be used by others, not BREAD.  While in the LORD'S PRAYER we pray for all we recognize the touch of GOD is a personal happening which can be shared through communication but only experienced by one.  BREAD has this meaning, showing a sharing but personal assimilation or realization.

Our lives can be shared through communication, but only through personal realization do we express life.  The greater our realization of GOD, the greater our life.  The LORD'S PRAYER does this for us, if we realize it.
